Since its inception, SAA has offered archivists reasons to read—and to write!
The American Archivist was established in 1938 and quickly became the leading journal in the archival field. The SAA Newsletter started in the 1970s and evolved into an award-winning bimonthly magazine, Archival Outlook. And for decades, SAA books have nurtured and educated generations of archivists. More recently, seven open access Case Studies Series address closely-defined areas of archival theory and practice.
Our publications are driven by SAA members, who write the articles, case studies, perspectives, research pieces, book chapters, manuals, and thought-leadership volumes. The Editorial Board, Publications Board, and SAA staff vet the content and strive to maintain SAA’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusivity, and accessibility as well as reflect our core values and strategic priorities—all in service to forwarding the archival conversation.
Join the conversation and make SAA your partner in publishing!
