These best practice guidelines have been developed as part of Opening Archives: Improving Access to Primary Sources in Florida, a project funded by a grant from the Florida Division of Library and Information Services, through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). This project involves the implementation of archival finding aids in Florida using the Encoded Archival Description (EAD) Version 2002 standard. Partner institutions include the Florida Center for Library Automation (FCLA), the State Library and Archives of Florida, the Tampa Bay Library Consortium (TBLC), Florida International University, Florida State University, the University of Central Florida, and the University of Florida.
