Correction to Updated Dues Model

November 14, 2025—Earlier this week, SAA released the 2026 updated dues model. The initial model included in that document was inaccurate.

During the process of evaluating updates to dues, several different possibilities were put forward. While putting together the communications to share with our membership, two salary bands labelled ID 9 and ID 10 were mistakenly added. Two others were posted with incorrect numbers. ID 7 ($90k–$99k) was posted as $425 per year and ID8 ($100k–149k) was posted at $500 a year. These numbers are inaccurate. The corrected numbers for those two bands are below: 

• ID 7: $90,000–$99,000 – $380 per year
• ID 8: $100,000 and above – $400 per year

These bands have been updated on the FAQ page. Please note that no dues will increase by more than $75 for any individual membership tier under the new structure.

SAA deeply apologizes for this error. While it was caught and corrected quickly, we understand how important accuracy is and how frustrating mistakes are, especially when dealing with dues that directly affect all our members. We are adjusting our processes to ensure errors like this are prevented or caught earlier.

November 10, 2025—Information on the 2026 membership dues increase is now available on SAA’s website. The new dues model was approved by the SAA Council during its August 2025 meeting. This page includes information not only on the dues structure but also answers to questions members may have and where to reach out for answers to additional questions. Please find the initial announcement about the dues change here.

The new dues structure goes into effect on January 1, 2026. Effective on that date, SAA dues for all membership categories will increase. Three new categories were created for members whose salary is $100,00 per year or greater. In addition, ID1 and ID2 have been consolidated into one category.
