The Catalyst Fund: A New Chapter for the SAA Foundation

July 17, 2024—The Society of American Archivists (SAA) Foundation is excited to announce a significant change to its Strategic Growth Fund.

Established in 2011 in honor of the Society of American Archivists' 75th Anniversary, this fund has been instrumental in supporting the Foundation's strategic priorities, including professional and public education, publications, research, the SAA Awards Program, and general operations.

At the fall 2023 SAA Foundation Board of Director's meeting, the Board approved changing the name of the fund to Catalyst Fund, effective July 2024. Along with the name change, the Strategic Growth Grant program will now be known as the Catalyst Grant program.

In a statement, Elizabeth Myers, vice president of the SAA Foundation, expressed enthusiasm for this change, saying, "The Catalyst Fund is not just an old fund with a new name. This important change signals a new chapter for the SAA Foundation and recognizes the galvanizing role that we all play in supporting the work of archivists now and in the future."
