SAA Foundation Awards Seven Strategic Growth Grants

August 18, 2023—The SAA Foundation Board awards grants that meet the mission and goals of the Foundation and/or SAA's strategic planning priorities. This year, the Foundation awarded seven projects a total of $29,799 in grant funds. The projects are:

  • "Excavating Bias: A Reparative Audit of Philadelphia Area Finding Aids," as submitted by the Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collections Libraries, Inc.
  • "Latin American Community Archives Workshops: Training and Collectivity," as submitted by Archivistas En Espanglish.
  • "Religious Archives in Transition Toolkit and Workshop: A Pilot Program for Archivists for Congregations of Women Religious," as submitted by the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill Archives.
  • "Graduate School Archives Internships: Exploring the Efficacy," as submitted by Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis.
  • "Community Archiving Day," as submitted by Recovering the US Hispanic Literary Heritage, University of Houston.
  • "Southern Transgender Archives Practices and Resources," as submitted by the Recovering the Invisible Histories Project.
  • "Improving Metadata for Better Accessibility to Scholarly Archives for Disabled and Sensory Sensitive People," as submitted by the Electronic Literature Lab at Washington State University.
