The Reappraisal and Deaccessioning Development and Review Team (RD-DRT) has completed its work to develop a set of guidelines to assist archivists involved in assessing their institution's holdings. A public forum on the draft standard was held at last year's annual meeting, and comments were collected into the fall. The Standards Committee has reviewed the final draft, and has recommended that it be accepted by SAA Council.
The RD-DRT was established in 2009, and has operated under the leadership of Laura Uglean Jackson (American Heritage Center). It was charged with developing guidelines for the reappraisal and deaccessioning that aligned with the SAA Code of Ethics. More information is available on the RD-DRT web page.
