Register for 2024 SAS Annual Meeting on July 22!

Please join us for the Solo Archivists Section Annual Meeting!  Section leaders will give brief reports on activities over the past year, we'll hear from our SAA Council liaison, and we will welcome our incoming chair. The highlight of our meeting will be a presentation by our newsletter editor, Allison Bundy, on the recent migration of the collection she manages to ArchivEra. Allison's case study will cover the reasons for the migration, the planning process, the migration process, and lessons learned. As a bonus, she'll share insights from a VHS digitization project using OBS Studio, a free open source video recording software program. There will be Q&A at the end of the presentation and we look forward to having a great discussion about software tools and migration strategies for solo archivists.

Please note the presentations will take place in the first hour, with the remaining 30 minutes marked for Q&A and discussion.

Bio:

Allison Bundy is the College Archivist & Digital Collections Librarian in the Carl B. Ylvisaker Library at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and is the current Newsletter Editor for the Solo Archivists section. She was introduced to Concordia as a student and became the college's Archives Associate after graduating. Upon completing her master's, she transitioned into the role of Archivist. As a solo archivist, Allison's goal is to one day have the digital content of Concordia's archives fully inventoried and accessible to researchers.
