Standard Approved!

A press release announcing the approval of the Standardized Statistical Measures and Metrics for Public Services in Archival Repositories and Special Collections Libraries was jointly issued by ACRL and SAA on January 25, 2018. 

The new document was approved by the ACRL Board of Directors in October 2017 and by the SAA Council in January 2018. Standardized Statistical Measures and Metrics for Public Services in Archival Repositories and Special Collections Libraries is available on the ACRL website and the SAA Standards Portal.

The task force would like to extend its appreciation to the hundreds of archivists and special collections librarians from across the U.S. and Canada who offered comments and questions on drafts of the proposed standard as well as those who participated in the development process by responding to our survey or attending forums, committee meetings, webinars, and other presentations. Our thanks also to the committee, board, and staff members of SAA and ACRL/RBMS who assisted in and supported the development, approval, and dissemination of the standard. The co-chairs extend their deep appreciation to the members of the task force who worked many hours to develop the standard.
