2) Section Meeting Planning

Thursday, June 29th at 4:00 p.m EST

Section meeting description: 

Panelists from Indiana and North Carolina newspaper digitization projects and the Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) will address issues relating to the stewardship of local newspapers at public libraries. Issues include copyright, the role of microfilm, digitization projects, preservation best practices and the move to online-only newspapers. 

3 Speakers confirmed: 

Justin Clarke - Digital Initiatives Director at Indiana State Library 

Lisa Gregory - Digital North Carolina 

Tahe Zalal - Northeast Document Conservation Center

Time Confirmed. All speakers confirmed. Time to market it and test run with speakers if possible. Two more  meetings before the conference. June meeting is the practice run. Mid May touch base with speakers and confirm timeframe and things they are covering

3) Newspaper Digitization  - Project spreadsheet divided by quadrant and TX.

Joanna has contributed but everyone else is a slacker! Get everything in by June meeting so that we can go live with it before the conference presentation.

Laura is going to put out a call for exhibits

Section elections coming up. Call goes out in early May!

Matthew is not running. Laura is not running. We need 2 Steering Committee Members and a Chair elect (Vice Chair).
