Connecting Online

Listserv

SAA hosts listservs for all of its roundtables, so if the main Archives and Archivists listserv, which is open to all types of archivists, feels intimidating, try participating in our listserv which is geared specifically towards those of us working in small or solo repositories.

In order to subscribe to the Lone Arrangers list, visit the roundtable's online roster and click on the link to subscribe. SAA members and non-members alike can join the listserv.

Once subscribed, to send a message to the entire list, send an email to

Online Communities

Through the efforts of some members of the Lone Arrangers community, we have two online outlets for creating and participating in a virtual community for all lone arrangers:

  • LinkedIn (NOTE: you must have a registered LinkedIn account to post to this page)

  • Facebook Group (NOTE: you must have a registered Facebook account and be logged in to view this page).

Donations to Alumni office

Hello all

The Director of Alumni Relations at my school recently told me that he has several donations made to the school by alums and asked how would I like him to handle donations in the future.

My question is how do you deal with the alumni and development offices when it comes to donations to the school?  I am just looking for some guidance about how to work with his office before I meet with him next week.  My feeling is that I would like to be involved as soon as possible in making any decisions about donations.

Thanks for any advice.

wool sweater that needs to be cleaned

Hello all.  I have a wool sweater from the 1940s that was donated by an alumnus. It needs to be cleaned before I put it in storage.  My question is can I bring it to any dry cleaner or is there some special place that I should be looking for? I am in northern NJ if you have any suggestions of a specific place to go also.  Thanks Tom
