Nominee:
Emily Gonzalez, Archivist, Cambridge Historical Commission
Nominee Statement: I received my Masters degrees in Library and Information Science (Archives Management) and History from Simmons College.  In November 2015 I began my current position as Archivist for the Cambridge Historical Commission, the historic preservation department for the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts. I am the first full time archivist at the Commission. 

As Vice-Chair, I hope to build on the Section’s outreach and professional support efforts, as well as encourage more active involvement in the Section. My goals are to reactivate the Section’s online presence, particularly on Facebook and the email listserv; create more opportunities for discussion among members, and encourage plans for a collaborative resources hub, where members can easily contribute to and access a repository of advice and other resources on managing local government records.

Diana Banning; City of Portland Archives & Records Management (Oregon)
Nominee Statement: I’ve been a local government archivist since 1993, serving as both King County Archivist (Seattle) and City Archivist for Portland.  I’m a long-time member of SAA and have been on the Membership Committee and served as a regional liaison and Key Contact, as well as co-chairing the 2017 Host Committee.  I’m also active with Northwest Archivists, the Portland Area Archivists, and chair the planning committee for the Oregon Archives Crawl.

Christina Bryant; Louisiana Division/City Archives & Special Collections at the New Orleans Public Library
Nominee Statement: As the outgoing Chair I would like to serve on the Steering committee to assist with the transition between leaders and work with the Chair and Vice Chair to encourage more involvement in the section.  I have been the department head for the Louisiana Division/City Archives & Special Collections at the New Orleans Public Library since 2015 and have worked in government archives since 2009.
