Annual Meeting Details and Funding Requests
50-word meeting description
As archivists work with EAD3, new opportunities and issues have emerged. At this forum, you will review migration resources like the EAD3 Study Group reports; learn about the Section’s webinar and social media programs, and discuss successes and setbacks encountered as archivists continue to study and implement encoded archival standards.
Administrative Work due to Name Change
Name has been corrected on the main EAS page and a statement added to “Background” regarding the name change.
Attempts to edit the resources listed under “EADRT Resources” produce an “Unknown Node Type” error.
Elizabeth will e-mail Felicia regarding the “Unknown Node Type” error.
EAD3 Migration Study Group (Elizabeth)
Full draft will be released in early March.
Webinar Series (Adrian/Patrick)
First webinar to be held on April 12 regarding the EAD3 study group regarding migration and data quality.
Will use freeconferencecall.com to host
Incorporate other standards (EAC-F, EAC-G, EGAD, etc.) into the Roundtable Standards Portal
Group will look at the Standards Portal and consider items to add/drop for next meeting.
Consider as part of the general cleanup needed during name change.
Collection of “Wild” EAD3 Specimens (Christy)
Ruth Tillman’s EAD3 “kitchen sink” guide is now available
Kate Bowers is considering adding her EAD2002 “kitchen sink” guide to the repository
Next step is to solicit example guides from the listserv
Opportunities for collaboration in SAA Leadership
Elizabeth added the projects identified at the 2016 December 12 meeting (providing access to EAD3 guides, study group report, and webinars) to the spreadsheet.
Mapping ArchivesSpace fields to EAD3
Noah Huffman (ASpace Technical Advisory Committee) is working on the project
Asking for comments on highlighted sections
Comments to be added directly to spreadsheet by adding a column for your comments
Group will review the document before next meeting (April 25) and discuss common themes.
