The document presents a framework for describing born-digital records in architectural collections, with concepts that could be applied more broadly to most any collection containing born-digital content. It offers guidance for baseline, moderate, and intensive levels of processing and description within the EAD element types, including crosswalks to DACS, EAD3, and ArchivesSpace.
These AV description guidelines were written to help archivists with arrangement and description of archival collections containing sound recordings and moving image materials in obsolete analog formats.
This processing manual, part of a larger operations manual, is specific to the Center for American War Letters Archives. It covers war letters and the various metadata that come with those materials.
