Congressional Papers Section

Vision: 

The Congressional Papers Section (CPS) of the Society of American Archivists (SAA) aspires to empower archivists working with congressional collections to ensure the identification, preservation, and use of records documenting Congress and the legislative process.

Mission:

CPS represents members of SAA and others who work with or have interest in preserving the papers of members of Congress, the records of Congress, and records that document the development of public policy and the democratic process. CPS provides leadership in promoting the value of congressional archives and archivists; develops and promotes best practices in the acquisition, preservation, management, and use of congressional papers and records; and fosters a culture of community, participation and inclusiveness within its membership and within the historical record.
