Recently Twitter was all a-buzz with tweets from the RBMS preconference in San Diego. I noticed that a lot of attention was paid to the plenary speakers. This is a topic I have seen on Twitter before, and I know people have opinions about it. As we are trying to get opinions, and make recommendations about, the entire Annual Meeting, we would love to hear on this site what those opinions are. Do you jump out of bed at the prospect of hearing a NPR personality? Would you prefer to hear inspirational members from among our own ranks? Should the time be dedicated to something else (more sessions, more networking, etc.)? Whatever your thoughts are, please let us know!
Wow - ask and ye shall receive, eh? Has everyone seen that this year's first plenary will feature Jon Voss of Historypin? There are really interesting uses for this social media device for archival outreach. Read all about it here: http://saa.archivists.org/Scripts/4Disapi.dll/4DCGI/events/eventdetail.html?Action=Events_Detail&InvID_W=2398

Hi, all. As the writer of the plenary post, I just wanted to introduce myself. Currently (until 8/31) I am a Project Archivist at the Connecticut Historical Society. I am the task force's liaison to SNAP and keep pretty close tabs on the Twitter beat. ~ Jennifer Sharp
