WHEREAS Kelly Sweeney is a dedicated freelance graphic designer who has worked unstintingly with SAA on a variety of projects for the past 12 years; and
WHEREAS she has designed every issue of SAA’s bimonthly magazine Archival Outlook since July/August 2007—more than 70 issues to date; and
WHEREAS she has produced excellent interior and cover design for multiple SAA books, including the award-winning Moving Image and Sound Collections for Archivists (2017), Archives in Libraries: What Librarians and Archivists Need to Know to Work Together (2015), 20 modules and counting in the Trends in Archives Practice series, and the forthcoming Archival Fundamental Series III; and
WHEREAS for many years she laid out issues of SAA’s semi-annual journal American Archivist and continues to design each issue’s cover; and
WHEREAS she has provided creative services to other SAA programs such as digital marketing materials for Day of Giving fundraising, archives brochures, flyers for distribution at regional meetings, signage at SAA Annual Meetings, awards certificates, ads for education and publication products, and more; and
WHEREAS she has been a steady and reliable partner, helping SAA to contain production costs and often going above and beyond to deliver lightning-swift turnarounds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the Society of American Archivists recognizes and thanks Kelly Sweeney for her fetching design work and outstanding service to SAA and the archives profession.
