CHELA SCOTT WEBER
WHEREAS Chela Scott Weber architected and authored the Research and Learning Agenda for Archives, Special, and Distinctive Collections in Research Libraries, published by OCLC Research in October 2017; and
WHEREAS The Research and Learning Agenda was designed as a tool for the broader community of archivists and special collections professionals; and
WHEREAS Chela successfully implemented a comprehensive, inclusive, and broad level of outreach to professionals representing a variety of specializations, areas of expertise, and leadership levels to develop a holistic view of current and future professional practice; and
WHEREAS She demonstrated her commitment to synthesizing emerging needs and strategic priorities for archives and special collections in the development and publication of this report, which is a benchmark document for archivists in the United States and beyond;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Chela Scott Weber be honored with a 2019 SAA Council Resolution for her important contribution to the profession.
