Description: Established in 1946 when NAMM was only 45 years old, the NAMM Resource Center provides access to historical data about the music industry. Drawing on more than a century of NAMM research, records, and archives, the Resource Center has access to everything from statistical records on retail music products sales to videotaped interviews with more than 1,000 of the people who have shaped this industry's history. Founded in 1998 by NAMM, the Museum of Making Music was developed to showcase and celebrate the music products industry. Join Dan Del Fiorentino, rebel librarian, and music historian extraordinaire as he guides you through over 100 years of vintage instruments, audio and video clips, and our vibrant interactive gallery. Organized chronologically, each gallery features the historic milestones, popular music, and instruments of those eras. A snapshot of music business practices and nostalgic re-creations of music stores provide a glimpse into the music products industry.
