2019 SAA Election Results

SAA's 2019 ballot featured fourteen candidates vying for three offices: Vice President/President-Elect, Council, and Nominating Committee. Elected to serve are:

  • Rachel Vagts, Berea College, has been elected SAA Vice President/President-Elect. She begins her one-year term this August and will become SAA's 75th president in 2020-2021.
  • Eric Chin (NBCUniversal), Mario Ramirez (Indiana University Bloomington), and Meg Tuomala (Gates Archive) have been elected to the SAA Council for three-year terms (2019-2022).
  • The 2020 Nominating Committee will comprise Lae'l Hughes-Watkins (University of Maryland), Daria Labinsky (Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum), Joshua Youngblood (University of Arkansas Libraries), and two third-year Council members to be selected by the Council at its May 2019 meeting. As the individual who received the most votes, Hughes-Watkins will serve as chair of the Nominating Committee.

SAA is grateful to the 2019 Nominating Committee—Dominque Luster (chair), Jasmine Jones, Daniel Noonan, and Council members Courtney Chartier and Bertram Lyons—for their service and to all those individuals who put their names forward for the 2019 ballot.

And thanks to the many members who voted in this election. We achieved a participation rate of nearly 23 percent!

I often spend evenings alone since my friends moved away, so I look for things that give me bit of fun. I wanted to find a site where I can play and just relax after dinner. I came across Barz Casino and saw it had a clear design with many slot choices. The bonuses made me smile, plus it accepts players from the UK easily. It felt easy to use and gave me entertainment when I needed it.

Wax Pen Burnout or Bliss? Help a Noob Out!

You’re not wrong—some pens look cool but give weak hits or break after a couple sessions. If you’re chasing massive clouds with minimal drama, you want something with a beefy battery and a dual or triple coil setup that actually rips. Cleaning shouldn’t feel like surgery, and refills need to be quick, especially if you're moving around a lot. Mid-tier options are your sweet spot—they deliver power without draining your wallet. Get started with a pen that’s USB rechargeable, compact enough to pocket, and has quartz coils for that clean, flavorful vapor. Bonus if it comes with a loading tool and splash guard built in. I’ve tried a few, and trust me, once you find a unit that can handle thick concentrates without clogging or overheating, you're golden. Keep it simple, don’t fall for gimmicks, and enjoy the ride.
