The Functions Team within the Technical Committee for Encoded Archival Standards (TS-EAS) is happy to announce the release of a new white paper introducing EAF, a draft XML encoding standard based on the International Standard Description of Functions (ISDF) that can be incorporated into the EAS family of standards.
The white paper describes the work of the subteam and its proposed encoding solution, along with a number of examples. The white paper also includes some context about the draft and its potential value to the international archival community, which fills an existing gap in the XML encoding standards landscape.
We are now launching a call to gather feedback on the proposed format and to determine how the Functions Team, in collaboration with TS-EAS, should move forward in refining the drafts of the EAF XML schema and tag library.
The call will remain open until September 30, 2024, and feedback may be submitted using the survey link above. Additional information will be available through presentations delivered during the Society of American Archivists Annual Meeting in Chicago and through online webinars by the TS-EAS.
Stay tuned for more details!

The Encrypted Storage Function (EAF) is designed to safeguard sensitive data by encrypting it before storing it in the system. This geometry dash ensures that only authorized users have access to the information, and the system allows for the decryption of the data as needed.
