Founded in 1994, the Mentoring Program is administered by the SAA Mentoring Subcommittee of the Membership Committee. The Mentoring Program fosters mentoring relationships by connecting participants with shared interests. Mentoring is for anyone, at any stage of their career.
We currently offer two mentoring options. The first is our 6-month, one-on-one mentoring track, which accepts applications on a rolling basis. Sign up today to participate! The second is our mentoring cohorts, which lauch in the spring and are organized around particular themes. Calls for mentors and mentees are generally posted to SAA Connect in April and May, with cohorts running from July-December. We're also piloting a new Self-Service option to be held in conjuction with the SAA annual meeting. Calls for mentors will be posted to SAA Connect.
Would you like to join us? Subcommittee volunteers are recruited every year in the spring and are appointed for two-year terms. Please apply during the annual call for volunteers before the Annual Meeting to serve on the Subcommittee.
Annual reports by the subcommittee are compiled into the SAA Membership Committee's annual reports.
