Giving Tuesday 2021

#GivingTuesday—a global day of giving to charities, nonprofits, and foundations—is November 30. The SAA Foundation invites you to include a gift to the Strategic Growth Fund as a way to give back—and help grow the archives profession!

Donating to the Strategic Growth Fund allows the Foundation to advance professional priorities through direct grants to our colleagues.

Your generosity enables our Strategic Growth grants to flourish and provide exceptional service to the profession. In 2021, we funded six important projects that are advancing the archives profession in so many ways. Tempestt Hazel of Sixty Inches from Center had this to say about the difference a Foundation grant made for her organization:

SAA’s re-envisioned virtual annual meeting the last two years meant that the travel grants, also funded from your donations to the Strategic Growth Fund, had to be reimagined. In 2021, the now renamed Annual Meeting Awards program provided complimentary meeting registrations for students and those who were unemployed or precariously employed due to COVID-19. Anne Cox of Columbia, Missouri, one of 114 recipients to date, shared her gratitude:

Or maybe you'll consider donating to the Mosaic Scholarship Fund to ensure our students of color have an opportunity to enter our profession with the support of their colleagues. Nineteen students have benefitted from a Mosaic Scholarship since the program began in 2009. Here’s what recipient Alexis Recto (Skirball Cultural Center and Museum, Los Angeles) has to say about her experience:

When you give, we grow. By contributing to the Strategic Growth Fund on Giving Tuesday, you can help ensure that the SAA Foundation has the resources and flexibility to support our entire community.

Make your gift on November 30 and see what we can accomplish together!

Make a donation now to the Strategic Growth Fund or any other fund of your choice. Donations to the SAA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, are tax deductible.
