Pre-requisites: ARST 510, ARST 515, ARST 516, ARST 520, ARST 591.
ARST 592 provides an opportunity for you to pursue individualized research of less scope and depth than a thesis would demand. It is normally available after you have completed 24 credits, including ARST 591, with better-than-average standing. If your adviser feels a regularly offered course impinges on your proposed project, you must take it as a pre- or co-requisite. You are expected to spend the same amount of time on this project as on any other course. It is up to you to initiate a proposal following these steps:
When all involved are in agreement, the proposal form will be signed by those involved. Students will be required to submit two copies of the completed form for the Directed Independent Study binder maintained in the office and for the faculty supervisor. Any significant change subsequently suggested by any party must be formally approved in the same way as the original proposal.
