Students gain understanding of special collections from the dual perspectives of librarian and researcher and pursue individual research projects with an emphasis on how library resources are used to document and enrich knowledge of a topic.  They experience the many ways in which special collections communicate meaning, ideas, and information, and experience their topic from the perspective of a wide array of library materials.
