Technical issues in Archives

Catalog Description
        Explores technology issues facing archivists today, addressing technology and its uses in collection management, arrangement and description, reference, digitization, and electronic records.

Course Objectives
        By the end of the course, a student will be able to:

        Discuss formatting a digitization project
Discuss when and how to put finding aids online
Assess when it is more practical to use a traditional form of storage (like microfilm) versus develop a digital archive?
Describe the impact that technology has on archives administration. 
Describe the issues involved in technologies used in archives.
Find and evaluate resources to enable them to make sound decisions as archival administrators when determining how to maximize the use of technology within their own repositories.
