Catalog Description

       Identification, collection, arrangement, description, preservation, and use of the full range of historical documents in both institutional and private repositories.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, a student will be able to:
        1. Explain the role and work of archivists;
        2. Explain the technological, ethical, and legal issues they routinely face;
        3. Recognize and define the basic concepts fundamental to the full range of activities included in the management of archives and manuscript     collections;
        4. Compare parallel activities between library and archives management including their differences and similarities.
