Catalog Description
        Origins, organization, and development of records, record keeping systems, and archival institutions, from an ancient world through the twentieth century.

Course Objectives
        By the end of the course, the student will be able to

        Discuss the major themes and current issues in the history of archives and related organizations, including libraries, historical societies, and museums.
        Describe the historical role of the archivist.
        Interpret the literature on the topic of archival history
        Identify major figures in archival history.
