Federal Records Act

Historical Date: 
A series of laws, currently codified in 44 USC 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31 and 33 that sets forth the records management policies and practices of federal agencies in the federal government, and establishing the National Archives and Records Administration as possessing the responsibility for preserving records of permanent historical value to the United States.
