The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) issued revised regulations updating the standards that records center storage facilities must meet to store Federal records. Concerning environmental controls, the SAA stated its view that "while in an ideal world permanent records would be stored in an environment suitable for permanent records from the beginning of their life cycle, the proposed NARA regulations strike a reasonable compromise for the real world."
