SAA Joins CoSA and NAGARA in Recommending Appointment of Archivists to PCAH

January 13, 2023—SAA has signed onto a statement written in conjunction with the Council of State Archivists (CoSA) and the National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators (NAGARA) strongly encouraging the appointment of archivists to the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH). At this critical moment for the arts, the humanities, and cultural heritage in the United States, the Committee's charge of advising the President of ways to support the arts, humanities, and museum and library services is more important than ever. Along with CoSA and NAGARA, SAA recommends the appointment of archivists to the PCAH to offer insights and information that empower individuals and groups to improve our society.
