A*CENSUS II Datasets Now Available in the SAA Dataverse

May 25, 2023—The A*CENSUS II All Archivists and Archives Administrators survey datasets are now available in the SAA Dataverse. These datasets are available to be downloaded, analyzed, and reused by archivists, researchers, and the general public. The All Archivists survey, which garnered 5,699 responses, targeted self-identified archivists/archives workers in the United States to gather information about their demographics, educational background and needs, job placement and status, and salaries, as well as their perspectives on key issues in the field. The Archives Administrators survey, which garnered 746 responses, targeted the directors of archival organizations to gather data about institutional characteristics, resources, strategic directions, and equity, inclusion, diversity, and access issues. The second comprehensive Archival Census and Education Needs Survey in the United States (A*CENSUS II) was funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the surveys were conducted by Ithaka S+R in conjunction with SAA.
