Images Needed for Revised Brochures

Steering committees of the Manuscript Repositories, Electronic Records, and Acquisitions and Appraisal sections have been revising three SAA brochures: A Guide to Deeds of Gift, Donating Your Organizational Records to a Repository, and Donating Your Personal or Family Papers to a Repository. Images are needed to illustrate these brochures; suggested content includes but is not limited to:

  • staff working on/with collections
  • researchers using collections
  • staff talking with researchers or donors
  • examples of personal/family papers and organizational records (all formats)

Be creative; feel free to stage situations if you'd like. Photographs should be 300 dpi, tiff or jpeg. Send your contributions (with photo credit information) by May 20, 2013, to Ellen Doon, ellen.doon@yale.edu. If your photo is used in one of the brochures, you will receive a complimentary packet of brochures upon publication.

Capturing Great Archive and Collection Photos

This is a great initiative! High-quality images really help make brochures more engaging and easier to understand. I’ve recently shared some tips on capturing professional-looking photos of archives and collections on my blog, which might be helpful for contributors: https://reminimodapkai.com

It’s always exciting to see how visuals can bring materials and processes to life for readers and researchers alike. Thanks for sharing this opportunity!

Great initiative—having strong visuals really makes a difference for brochures like these. I’ve found that good image references save a lot of time during design and revisions. This is such a great initiative, visuals can truly bring these brochures to life and make the message resonate more deeply. As someone who loves collecting powerful and meaningful images, I also wanted to mention that I've found some amazing high-quality wallpapers over at FondosPantallaHD.com. It's a great place for inspiration, especially if you're looking for visually striking backgrounds that can complement educational or promotional materials. Can't wait to see the updated brochures with fresh visuals!
