The number of recipients and award amounts will be determined by the SAA Foundation AWEF Grant Review Committee in collaboration with the SAA Foundation Board of Directors based on need and available funds. During the initial period (April 15 to December 31, 2020), the award amount will be up to a maximum of $1,000. All recipients will also receive a complimentary year-long membership in SAA.
The SAA Foundation welcomes and encourages donations to support the Archival Workers Emergency Fund, established to provide financial assistance for archival workers experiencing acute, unanticipated financial hardship due to the current COVID-19 global pandemic.
Developed based on a proposal from an ad hoc group of concerned archivists, AWEF is administered through the SAA Foundation, which has provided seed money of $15,000.
We know that everyone is facing immense hardships and uncertainty during this global crisis. If you have the means, please consider donating to directly support your fellow archival workers who have been furloughed, lost hours, or otherwise been significantly affected financially by the COVID-19 crisis. Any amount will help!
I am sure that it is a great initiative for people in need of financial support. It’s heartening to see the community come together to provide assistance during tough times. If you consider making a donation, you can rest assured that every contribution counts. I’ve seen how financial help can truly make a difference, just like Optima Tax Relief reviews highlight how effective support can be when dealing with financial stress. Let’s keep the momentum going and help those who preserve our history.
