DAS Subcommittee Call
June 17, 2014
Present: Cynthia Ghering, Glen McAninch, Lori Lindberg, Liz Bishoff, Sybill Schaefer, Tom Rosko, and Veronica Martzahl. Absent: Mahnaz Ghaznavi.
1) Welcome to Sybil and Cynthia;
2) Subcommittee calendar - confirming dates for phone calls and the face-to-face meetings;
Doodle Poll for conference calls and face-to-options in September, November, and December forthcoming – SD.
3) Conversation about SAA’s need to extend the terms of existing DAS SC members and, at the same time, change chairs. Officially, as of 8/16/2014, Lori’s term as chair will expire and she will stay on as a committee member; and Mahnaz’ term as a member will expire and she will become chair. The terms on the committee roster, at this time, reflect staggered terms and are subject to renewal/extension based on the individual and the incoming SAA Vice President.
3) Liaison course updates/assignments/redistributions; Group assigned and reassigned courses. New chart based on the conversation is attached and subject to final approval by everyone.
4) DAS roles and responsibilities were discussed and examples of interactions were given. Report relationship to the Education Committee was explored as well.
5) Comp exam questions: Discussed the question that now includes the Kinney/McGovern citation and decided to leave that clarification in.
6.) Liz will provide 4 questions for T&S5 so group can pick out 2 for the Comp Exam.
There was no time to talk about the item Liz brought up (length of webinars specifically) about webinars and I’ll put that on the next Conference Call agenda.
