It will explore legacy cataloguing, next generation cataloging, cataloging complements and alternatives: TEI headers, EAD, MODS, ONIX, VRA CC, METS, Web pages, and beyond. It will study the underlying concepts of these approaches and their implementations, including raw data, linked data technology and Semantic Web. With a view toward the future, boundaries of new technology applications will be pushed and explored by examining sharing of the data, automated metadata record creation, subject analysis, and classification.
