Cultural Heritage / Archives Fieldwork

This course is a focused practical field experience combined with a classroom component. Students will work on site in small teams on projects selected by the archives or cultural heritage institution and pre-approved by the course instructor. Working on projects with defined goals and expectations, students will apply the theory and concepts of LIS 775 or LIS 885. They will identify the issues and challenges facing many archives and cultural heritage institutions. In the classroom component of the class, students will share and discuss their activities and projects with each other and the instructor.
