Examines the role of archives, records, and material culture in the construction of collective memory in documenting – and forgetting – history. Focusing on issues such as ethics, repatriation, contested history, neglect and marginalization, this course examines the role of archives, records and material culture in public history display and in the formulation of political, social and national identities.
