Records Management

  • Records Management Basics brochures created by Holly Geist. Lone arrangers are often tasked with records management duties, and these brochures provide a great introduction to records management terms and concepts for those looking to get started.

  • "Electronic Records Management at VMFA" developed by Courtney Yevich. All staff members at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (over 200 employees) were required to attend this presentation, offered monthly from February-June 2008.  (PPT; 551KB)

  • Guide to Records Management for Lone Arrangers Developed by Members of the Society of American Archivists Lone Arrangers Roundtable: Nancy Freeman, Holly Geist, Lisa Sjoberg, and Alison Harper Stankrauff. With input from the Records Management Roundtable, the committee created the manual to assist lone arrangers who are tasked with records management duties.  The guide gives a general description of important components of records management, and resources to learn more about each of the main topics. Later this year the committee intends to include case studies to further assist lone arrangers with real-world examples of processes, procedures, and projects.
