Sixteen candidates vying for four different offices are slated for SAA’s 2015 ballot. The candidate elected vice president will serve a one-year term beginning in August 2015 and then will become SAA’s 72nd president in 2016–2017. The candidate elected treasurer will serve a three-year term beginning in August and running through the 2018 SAA Annual Meeting. There are three available seats on the Council. Those elected will serve three-year terms beginning in August and running through the 2018 Annual Meeting. The three candidates elected to the 2016 Nominating Committee will serve one-year terms beginning immediately.

The complete slate is listed in the box on the right. Click on each candidate's name to read a brief bio along with his or her response to the questions (below) posed by this year's Nominating Committee.

Vice President/President-Elect: Describe your vision to raise the profile of archives and archivists and how you would leverage the strategic plan to move this forward.

Treasurer: How could you as treasurer help simultaneously ensure the financial well being of SAA and bring more value to members?

Council: How would you utilize your skills and experience to help make SAA thrive in an environment that expects more communication, collaboration, and demonstrated action?

Nominating Committee: What will be your criteria for choosing a slate of nominees, and how will those help SAA in its mission?

These questions were developed by SAA’s 2015 Nominating Committee: Chair Erin O'Meara, Cristela Garcia-Spitz, Eira Tansey, and Council members Geoffrey Huth and Michelle Light.

Any eligible member of SAA may also be placed on the ballot by submitting a petition signed by fifty individual members; petitions must be received at the SAA office in Chicago by February 10, 2015.
