SAA Strategic Plan

In January 2013 the SAA Council met in a facilitated session to consider the opportunities and challenges that exist for archives, archivists, and SAA in the next five years.  The work resulting from that session--including a draft Vision Statement, a revised Mission Statement, four new Goals, and Strategies aimed at achieving those goals--were then fielded for member comment. 

Armed with more than 24 compiled pages of member comments, the Council at its May 2013 meeting adopted new Vision and Mission statements, Core Organizational Values, and Goals and Strategies that form the framework for SAA’s Strategic Plan 2013 – 2018. Key performance indicators and draft actions associated with the Goals and Strategies will be open for member comment in mid-July.
