Question posed by Nominating Committee: What will be your criteria for choosing a slate of nominees, and how will those help SAA in its mission?

If elected, I hope to present a diverse pool of qualified nominees to help SAA represent and engage an increasingly broad profession. SAA will benefit from the input of leaders with a range of experience in the profession and tenure in the organization. I will seek out candidates who represent a range of perspectives, with emphasis on institution types and sizes, collecting focuses, and geographic distribution. I believe that this approach will enable SAA to pursue a more unified vision of the profession while drawing on the strengths of our various component groups. Ideal candidates should be active in the organization and committed to advancing the profession by contributing rigorous scholarship, developing innovative practices, or mentoring the next generation of archivists.
