From time to time the SAA Council (or its Executive Committee) may take a position on an issue of importance to the profession or the association. Following is a list of selected SAA position statements. Note that the formats may range from a formal Council-adopted statement to a letter from the SAA president expressing the sense of Council discussions. SAA will take a position, make a statement, or take other action only on issues that are related directly to archives and archival functions, according to SAA’s Criteria for Advocacy Statements. For more information, refer to the Council minutes or contact an SAA staff member at firstname.lastname@example.org.
