Description: The collection deals primarily with the career of Robert R. McCormick and the history of the Chicago Tribune, of which he was publisher for 40 years. There are lesser amounts of materials on McCormick's grandfather, Joseph Medill; on Medill's other heirs - the Patersons, and on their Tribune Company subsidiaries, mainly the Canadian paper mills.
