Recruitment for blog posts

• Updates: 

  • Hope, any update from colleagues about a potential blog post?

    • February 9th deadline

  • Planning February blog posts: Coffee Chat recap and RoundUp

  • Corinne: blog post from Lori Donovan on web archiving syllabus (March - June)

  • Amanda: Action Item: Reach out to Eira Tansey (A Green New Deal for Archives)

    • Please join SAA's Issues & Advocacy Section Steering Committee for our 1st meetup of 2024 in the Hive Mind program series, in which we will be discussing Eira Tansey's A Green New Deal For Archives on Thursday, January 25th from 2-3pm EST (1-2pmCT/12-1pmMT/11-12pmPST).

Recruitment for Coffee Chats

  • Date: Friday, January 26th, 2024 12-1pm EST

  • Planning: 

    • Press Record

    • Remind people about the survey

    • Intro and questions (Corinne will start Google Doc)

      • Each person will introduce self and position

    • Record session to make available via GDrive 

    • Write a summary of talk for WAS Blog (Corinne will write)

    • Chat monitoring (Allison will monitor)

    • Ask for slides and/or transcript after presentation

Idea: Host multiple spring coffee chats since we have interest, ie. a series of speakers

• Consider panel options

• Host at least two before the annual meeting

• Kristi and colleagues interested in presenting on AI project

  • In the spring, March or April

Action Item Update: Corinne will set up a Google Form Survey to poll engagement/content members would like to see. 

• Leave live through the New Year and promote at the Coffee Chat.

• Post again to SAA Listserv

Social Media Strategy

Any updates on alternative Twitter/X spaces?

• Keep Twitter/X for now (useful for finding RoundUp links)

  • Wait until after survey closes to reassess

  • Use Zotero (free instance) to create list of resources for web archiving 

• Action Item: Allison will add all emails to Zotero group/work to supplement the Blog RoundUp (have not done this yet, will work on it!)

• Action Item: Amanda will email Allison a list of resources to add
