Recruitment for blog posts

• Updates: 

  • Lizzy wrote a post about Reparative Description work

  • Corinne wrote a post about Union’s Web Archiving work

  • Any info from Amanda emailed Ed Summers about Web Archiving Appraisal?

  • Any response from Amanda re: Ben Goldman and web archiving stability?

  • Kirsti: Is working to use AI with web archives (provenance, using AI to query, etc.) Any update?

    • Is currently running with a test collection (80~ links)

    • Testing how grounded and relevant model answers are

Recruitment for Coffee Chats

  • Tentative Date: Friday, January 26th, 2024 12-1pm EST

  • Awaiting confirmation - may confirm after new year

  • Planning: 

    • Intro and questions

    • Record session to make available via GDrive 

    • Write a summary of talk for WAS Blog

    • Chat monitoring

• Hope: tools to enhance discoverability or oral histories

Idea: Host multiple spring coffee chats since we have interest, ie. a series of speakers

• Consider panel options

• Host at least two before the annual meeting

• Kristi and colleagues interested in presenting on AI project

Action Item Update: Corinne will set up a Google Form Survey to poll engagement/content members would like to see. 

• Leave live through the New Year and promote at the Coffee Chat.

Liaison (Alison Clemens) to attend January Meeting

• Bring any suggestions/considerations for liaison to next meeting.

Social Media Strategy

Any updates on alternative Twitter/X spaces?

• Keep Twitter/X for now (useful for finding RoundUp links)

• Email from Hannah Stryker: Did anyone attend this on Nov.9th?

  • No attendance, Allison can look for recording.

  • Use Zotero (free instance) to create list of resources for web archiving 

• Example Zotero from records management section

  • Free, public

  • Editable only by WAS Steering

  • No storage capacity, can only link to resources

  • Allison will add all emails to Zotero group/work to supplement the Blog RoundUp

• Use a close LinkedIn group
