Outreach Ideas:

Action Item: Identify one person or project to reach out to about blog posts or coffee chat.

Recruitment for blog posts

  • Action Item Update: Blog Request Cold Email Draft is ready

  • Ideas:

    • Amanda emailed Ed Summers about Web Archiving Appraisal

    • Lizzy will write a post about Reparative Description work

    • Amanda will email Raven Germain about blog/coffee chat

      • Raven may have switched jobs and works for Artefactual now

    • Weekly/Monthly Web Archiving roundup Blog posts

Recruitment for Coffee Chats

Two Coffee Chats: January and March/April

  • New Ideas:

    • Teaching web archiving

    • Use of web archives in mis/disinformation

    • Web archives provenance

  • Amanda emailed Greg Wiedeman (UAlbany) about email archiving practice

    • Using Mailbag for email archives

    • Invite members from Electronic Records Section

Action Item: Corinne will set up a Google Form Survey to poll engagement/content members would like to see.

Social Media Strategy

Any updates on alternative Twitter/X spaces?

  • Kristi has been tweeting, and there is still some engagement and impressions on X, but definitely dramatically less than before

  • Slack

    • Action Item Update: Corinne will email liaison about Slack access

    • SAA is pushing contact through SAA Connect and Listservs

    • Action Item: Send out question about social media account/use to all sections via SAA Connect

    • Idea: Move links to outside posts/articles to the blog.

  • BlueSky or Mastodon

    • Kristi spoke with another web archiving community member about this and who is on both platforms. More of the web archiving community is on Mastodon, but neither platform is very active. They think Slack is likely the way to go if possible.

  • Threads/Instagram

    • Don’t think this is the best option, not a ton of activity on Threads

Action Item: Corinne will contact Hannah Stryker to update WAS Steering Committee roster
