Dear Colleagues,
Welcome back to the conversation!
This year, our Section made further forays into social media, employing YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn to reach out to the membership. We will continue to look for new and creative ways to share knowledge and spark discussion among our group.
In addition to our virtual interactions, business archivists created opportunities to meet and collaborate in person. This spring, archivists and historians who work with commercial aviation collections met for a first-of-its-kind conference in Dallas, TX; and the International Council on Archives held a Business and Labour Archives symposium in Basel, Switzerland.
As this issue of the Newsletter goes live, BAS members are looking ahead to the rapidly approaching SAA Annual Meeting in New Orleans. Read on to find out how your colleagues will be contributing to the experience. And since conference-goers can't survive on sessions alone, we've also provided an extensive and annotated smorgasbord of NOLA dining spots, from an expert!
If you are attending the conference, we hope to see you at the Colloquium and Section Business Meeting (details on our homepage)! Whether or not you're able to join us in person, please keep an eye on our web presence for updates on BAS news and activities.
Here's to a productive summer!
