White House Budget Again Zeroes Out Key Humanities Agencies

The Presidential Budget Request for FY 2019 again calls for elimination of the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Although the appropriations process for FY 2018 has not yet been completed, Congress has rejected the President’s previous proposals. Working with the National Humanities Alliance, the National Coalition for History, the Council of State Archivists, and other partners, SAA will issue a call to action when grassroots advocacy will have the greatest impact.
