This is a general guide to processing archival collections at LACMA and many of the sections are repository-specific or do not relate to Archivists’ Toolkit (though that information may prove useful to other institutions for various reasons). This manual is designed to enable members of the Northwest Digital Archives (NWDA) to create finding aids that comply with the Northwest Digital Archives’ Best Practice Guidelines for Encoded Archival Description. The first section walks archivists through the process of configuring their installation of the Archivists’ Toolkit to match NWDA expectations. The second and third sections walk paraprofessionals and student employees through the process of creating a resource record and then uploading the resultant finding aid to NWDA. This is a detailed guide on how to describe audiovisual material in Archivists’ Toolkit, including what technical specs to include in metadata. It is organized into three sections: collection-level description, series-level description, and folder/item-level description and discusses what information is required or preferable at each of these levels of processing. Describing AV in AT Resource Records

This manual provides detailed instruction on creating resource records, name records and subject records in the AT. It thoroughly describes the basics of description, including which fields and notes are required at each level of processing, offers helpful hints, and instructions on how to use Rapid Data Entry. It is 47 pages with screenshots included.

Creating Resource Records in Archivists' Toolkit

Texas General Land Office

This manual discusses how to create a finding aid in Archivist’s Toolkit adhering to Describing Archives: a Content Standard. It details Archivists’ Toolkit functionality, the descriptive elements in a finding aid, and how to upload AT records into consortial finding aid portals, in this case Texas Archival Resources Online.  It is geared toward student workers. Guidelines for Creating Finding Aids Using Archivists' Toolkit

University of California, Riverside

This manual was designed for use in the UCR Library's Special Collections & University Archives. It covers resource record creation in AT at the collection, series, and file levels. Subjects, names, and reports in AT are briefly covered as well. Modification of exported EAD files from AT using Oxygen XML is also discussed along with how these files are prepped for ingest into the Online Archive of California (OAC). No screenshots.

This is a 73-page guide that is organized into sections according to Archivists’ Toolkit’s five modules: Names, Subjects, Accessions, Resources, and Digital Objects. It thoroughly discusses linking records across these modules. It also includes sections on assessment records, deaccession records, and creating reports. Appendices cover order of notes and mapping crosswalks between AT, EAD, and MARC. Screenshots not included for most sections.
