On CampusProgram Philosophy
Our Archives/Records/Information Management specialty is part of our MLS degree. It is intended to prepare students for the most demanding, challenging, and also rewarding archival and records management careers. Courses include coverage of such topics as manuscripts and preservation but also range to electronic records and knowledge management. The program discusses theory and principles but also conveys information about how successful archival and records management programs function. We also stress practicum and field study, taking advantage of our location in close proximity to some of the nation's most prominent archival institutions and programs (the National Archives and Records Administration's Archives II facility is located on our campus).
